29 Sep Ségolène Royal takes part in the 15th International Energy Forum

 

Ségolène Royal, COP21 President and Minister of the Environment, Energy and Marine Affairs, travelled to Algeria on Tuesday, 27 September for the 15th International Energy Forum.

Ms Royal chaired the plenary session on “Renewables and energy efficiency: prospects and challenges after COP 21”.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Mrs Royal met with many Algerian dignitaries, including her opposite numbers Noureddine Boutarfa, the minister of Energy, and Abdelkader Ouali, the minister of Water Resources and Environment. She also met with the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal.

 

 

The visit demonstrates France and Algeria’s will to intensify dialogue on environmental matters in the run up to COP22 this November. It also aimed to rethink the productive partnerships between the two countries in light of the new environmental requirements.
