16 May Ségolène Royal opens the first session of negotiations on the implementation of the Paris Agreement in Bonn

Ségolène Royal, along with Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Christiana Figueres, has gathered delegates from 196 countries in Bonn to start implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. She will kick off work on Monday morning, setting out the main objectives in order to be as efficient as possible.

Ségolène Royal welcomes the mobilization that reflects strong commitment to implement the Agreement, with nearly 3000 delegates participating in this round of negotiations which will last ten days.

On Tuesday 17 May, Ségolène Royal will meet in Paris with the ambassadors of European Union Member States to discuss the calendar of European ratification.
On Tuesday afternoon, she will present the bill for ratification of the Paris Agreement at the National Assembly.
