Business and sponsors

The mobilization of civil society stakeholders as a whole and in their full diversity was essential for the success of COP21/CMP11.

Businesses contribute directly or indirectly to global warming and are therefore crucial stakeholders in the design of effective solutions to keep the temperature rise below the limit of 1.5°C to 2°C.

Many companies in all sectors are already involved in the fight against combat climate change, in the framework of a variety of initiatives such as the Global Compact’s Caring for climate,  the WWF Climate Savers programme, the Climate Group’s RE100 initiative, part of the World Economic Forum (WEF), or the Agenda of solutions.

Moreover, several of those companies have chosen to contribute as sponsors to the organization of COP21 through either financial or in-kind contributions.
