15 Apr Negotiators meet in Paris between two COPs

On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 April 2016, the Delegation Heads of about 50 countries met in Paris for an informal session of climate. These consultations were organized by the French Presidency of COP21 and the future Moroccan Presidency of COP22 in order to start discussions on how to implement the Paris Agreement and how to turn intended national contributions into genuine public policies. This was a warm-up before official negotiations resume in Bonn in May and was the first handover to the Moroccan Presidency, just a few days before the Paris Agreement signing ceremony on 22 April in New York, where over 150 Heads of State and Government are expected.
